Question 1

What is ADAComply PDF?

Accepted Answer

ADAComply PDF is a PDF remediation service that fixes accessibility issues in PDF documents. You upload a PDF and it gets remediated and checked against the machine-testable rules in WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA, PDF/UA-1, PDF/UA-2, and WTPDF. The whole process is automated, and manual review and assistive-technology testing are still recommended alongside the automated checks.

Question 2

How does automated PDF remediation work?

Accepted Answer

You upload your PDF and the engine tags document structure, corrects reading order, raises text contrast to the WCAG 2.1 AA threshold, and generates alt text from the image and surrounding context. You get back a remediated PDF and a machine-testable report scored against WCAG 2.1 AA, PDF/UA-1, PDF/UA-2, and WTPDF. Manual review of alt-text meaning and complex-layout reading order is still recommended.

Question 3

What PDF accessibility standards does ADAComply PDF support?

Accepted Answer

ADAComply PDF checks every PDF against the machine-testable rules in WCAG 2.1 AA, PDF/UA-1, PDF/UA-2, and WTPDF (Well-Tagged PDF). These feed into ADA Title II, Section 508, and international document-accessibility programs, alongside manual review and assistive-technology testing.

Question 4

What compliance standards does ADAComply PDF check?

Accepted Answer

Every PDF is checked against the machine-testable rules in WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA, PDF/UA-1 (ISO 14289-1), PDF/UA-2 (ISO 14289-2, where supported by the installed checker), and the Well-Tagged PDF (WTPDF) profile. Automated checks complement, but do not replace, manual review by an accessibility specialist.

Question 5

Accepted Answer
